What is ISO 17034?

ISO 17034 is the international standard for producers of certified reference materials (CRMs). It aims to ensure the quality of reference materials needed for laboratory accuracy and traceability. The certification process includes rigorous audits and inspections.

The process consists of multiple stages — at each stage, the laboratory's technical capabilities, quality management system, and staff competencies are thoroughly assessed. The entire effort lasted more than 6 months and was carried out by international experts.
